Bear Trap Ranch is located just 35 minutes outside of the center of downtown Colorado Springs, only eight miles beyond the Broadmoor Resort on Old Stage Road. Although Bear Trap Ranch is the closest retreat center of its size to downtown Colorado Springs, once on the property there is a distinct sense of being truly remote–a place of wonder, beauty, peacefulness and adventure with a deep sense of home.

Directions to Bear Trap Ranch
From I-25 take South Circle Drive, Exit #138, and head west (toward the mountains). Circle Drive becomes Lake Avenue. Follow Lake (going west) to the circular intersection in front of the Broadmoor Hotel. Go left onto Pourtales, the road then turns into Mirada and then into Cheyenne Mtn. Blvd. (You will probably not even notice the road is changing names, as long as you can see the golf course you are heading the correct direction.) Continue until you come to the stop sign at Penrose Blvd./Cheyenne Mtn. Zoo Road. Continue straight through this intersection; this marks the beginning of Old Stage Road. After a short residential section, the Old Stage Road becomes gravel. Continue up the road for 7 miles (35 minutes) to our large “Bear Trap Ranch” sign. Our camp drive is on the left. Travel time to Bear Trap is about 45 minutes from downtown, 1 hour from the airport.
PLEASE DRIVE WITH CAUTION on mountain roads. Uphill driver has the right-of-way. Permit more aggressive drivers to pass. Honk and keep to the right on blind turns. Shift into low gear on steep downhill grades to minimize braking. Please phone the Ranch before leaving Colorado Springs to check on current road conditions when snow is a possibility. During the winter months, we recommend bringing along tire chains and a snow shovel, and driving a 4WD vehicle.
